The February W.O.P. are 2 things I don’t use often, but when I do I feel they are super clutch in my workouts - grippy socks and gloves! I am more pro-socks than the gloves, but here’s when I like to use them:
Super hot yoga when I need extra sturdiness
To avoid wrist pain
Provide extra support
Yoga workouts when I’m feeling a little ‘weak’ and need some extra support in my balance
Pilates — the best!
Workouts on a slippery surface - get extra grip
When I’m working on a new balance posture for the first couple of times
I wouldn’t suggest using both at the same time - you want to allow yourself to get stronger rather than rely too much on support (which is why I usually just stick to the socks). The socks can come toeless or like real socks — totally your preference! I prefer toeless for yoga and full sock for a pilates class (specifically on a reformer).
There are SO many options out there - long gloves, short socks, knee-high, etc. but the great thing is you don’t have to get the most expensive and crazy option out there! Even your local superstore (like Wal-Mart) will have an affordable pair that really will do the same thing as a sock/glove that is double its price.
Gaiam makes some also options - check them out at the Yoga Outlet for super affordable - and cute - options! OR if you’d like to purchase thru Pets, Pans & Push-Ups fill out the form below and you will get FREE shipping PLUS an additional “thank you!” gift — AND a proceed of your order will go towards supporting small businesses in upcoming BOB Boxes.
